For the longest time we had "placemats of the month" on our table.
Custom made just for us.
Cute as pie.
But....it got boring after a couple years.
Time to change it up.
To date, the most recent addition to the table top is this runner:
The material came from my Grandma's stash of vintage linens Momma
had tucked away in a closet since Grandma passed away over twenty years ago.
Twenty-three to be exact.
When I inherited the stash this is one of the pieces I fell in love with.
With a couple quick cuts and some quick stitching, we new have a custom runner.
Yes, it will get dirty.
Yes, maybe the material will get stained.
Yes, it is going to be a slight annoyance to move it so we can eat at the table.
But I love it.
And that is what makes our house a home, living with what we love.
Doing so may mean a ding, scratch, water mark, or stain.
Worse...something might get broken.
*gasp*
But if we store away the things we love just to protect them then we're really not living with them.
Storing them away keeps them from really being enjoyed.
So don't be afraid to bring them into the light of day, altering them if necessary.
Make those loveable finds your own, in the process, filling your home with décor you love.
Happy Treasure Hunting, Y'all ~Betsy
